Rules Of Play

Eligibility

  • Ticket purchasers must be 18 years of age or older to enter the Arthritis Society Canada 50/50 Cash Lottery.
  • Ticket purchasers must be located in Ontario at the time of purchase.
  • The following persons are prohibited from purchasing tickets in the Arthritis Society Canada 50/50 Cash Lottery:
    • Arthritis Society Canada staff,
    • Arthritis Society Canada past and current Board of the Directors,
    • Any employee of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario,
    • Any employee of the raffle management supplier BUMP 50/50 System, who is involved with the development and/or support of the 50/50 System,
      • Members of the same household of each of the above.

Ticket Sales

  1. Tickets must be purchased while physically in the province of Ontario.
  2. Ticket sales will start March 5, 2024 and close April 15, 2024 at 4.59 PM ET. The draw will take place on April 15, 2024, at 7 PM ET.
  3. 50% of the sales of tickets will be awarded to the winner and 50% to Arthritis Society Canada.
  4. Tickets may be purchased online at arthritis5050.ca only.
  5. Tickets are available at the following bundle prices: $20.00 for 5 tickets, $30.00 for 15 tickets, $40.00 for 50 tickets and $60.00 for 125 tickets.
  6. There is no limit to the number of tickets available.
  7. All sales are final. There will be no refund issued.
  8. All tickets will be delivered via email. It is the responsibility of the ticket purchaser to ensure that they receive their ticket(s).

Draws, Prizes and Winners

  1. Ticket sales will conclude on April 15, 2024, at 4:59pm ET, at which time all qualified tickets will be confirmed.
  2. A single ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) program, from all raffle ticket numbers sold during the time the raffle was open. The draw will be electronically conducted from arthritis5050.ca at 7pm ET.
  3. The winning ticket number will be posted at arthritis5050.ca and on our social media channels. The winner will also be notified by phone and email.
  4. Arthritis Society Canada reserves the right to satisfy itself as to the validity of any ticket that is presented as a winning ticket, by means of such authentication and validation tests, requirements and procedures as it may from time to time determine, and to declare that a ticket which does not pass, meet, or fulfill such tests, requirements or procedures is void. Concurrently with a winning ticket being presented to Arthritis Society Canada (or being received by Arthritis Society Canada by mail), whether for the purpose of validation or for the purpose of claiming a prize, all right, title and interest in and to the ticket is thereby relinquished by the winner and property in the ticket passes to Arthritis Society Canada.
  5. All prizes will be paid in Canadian currency via cheque.
  6. All prizes must be claimed within six (6) months of the draw unless otherwise specified by Arthritis Society Canada, thereafter any unclaimed prizes must be secured or placed in safekeeping by Arthritis Society Canada for a period of six (6) months from the date of the draw. If at the expiry of six (6) months the prize has not been claimed, the prize monies will be donated by Arthritis Society Canada to a beneficiary approved in advance by the Registrar.
  7. Arthritis Society Canada may refuse to send or forward a prize to an address outside Ontario and will not send or forward a prize to an address in any jurisdiction where such sending or forwarding is prohibited by law.
  8. Neither a prize (or portion thereof), nor any entitlement or payment relating to it, may be assigned, transferred, sold, loaned, leased, rented, pledged, mortgaged or hypothecated, by any winner.
  9. Arthritis Society Canada is not responsible for providing financial or tax advice.
  10. Arthritis Society Canada will not award a prize for tickets which are void unless Arthritis Society Canada, in its discretion, deems it appropriate to do so. Tickets are void if lost, stolen, unissued, illegible, mutilated, damaged, altered, counterfeited or forged, miscut, misregistered, defective, misprinted, cancelled, produced in error and not recorded in the online system, incomplete, not paid for, destroyed or issued, acquired or presented, in, or upon, violation of these Rules, or the Game Conditions. Void tickets are the property of Arthritis Society Canada.
  11. Ticket holders do not have to be present at the draw in order to win or to claim their prize.
  12. The winner must provide their full name, address and phone number upon claiming their prize.

General

  1. By purchasing a ticket in the Arthritis Society Canada 50/50 Cash Lottery, the purchaser acknowledges that they have read, understood and agreed to these rules. All inquiries regarding the conduct, chance of winning, prizing or procedures of lotteries are to be made to Arthritis Society Canada, prior to the purchase of a ticket.
  2. All orders will be processed and fulfilled using the BUMP raffle management platform. In the event of any discrepancy, the records of BUMP shall be deemed correct and final. Arthritis Society Canada is responsible for the conduct and management of the raffle. The liability of the licensee shall be limited to the purchase price of the ticket.

Privacy

  1. By claiming a prize, winner consents to the use of their likeness/photograph, first and last name, ticket number, city/town of residence and the audio/video recording (or written transcription) of the winner notification telephone call, for any publicity purposes by Arthritis Society Canada.
  2. Arthritis Society Canada respects the privacy of its raffle supporters; we do not sell, rent, or trade our supporter lists. The information we collect is used to process raffle ticket purchases, keep our supporters informed about the activities of Arthritis Society Canada and ask for their support in our mission.
